Don't miss staying at this GEM.

Enjoyed every moment of our stay! Upon our arrival, Rick gave us an informative tour explaining the history of this beautiful B&B. I wish we could've stayed for a full week! Everything was very clean and the food was delicious! We will definitely come back.

Wonderful hosts, beautiful house, great food. Can't do better!

If I could give this place a thousand stars, I would. The innkeepers are extremely kind and hospitable, the food is to die for, and the place is beautiful inside and out, complete with spacious rooms and peaceful outdoor seating areas. There's even a butler's pantry with coffee and tea, beer and wine, sodas and snacks, and even a medicine cabinet stocked with items you may have forgotten (toothpaste, razors, aspirin, etc). I ended up here during a business trips when local hotels were sold out. I'll make a trip back to Virginia just to stay here again. Seriously. It's that awesome.

Only problem: they set the bar so high, every other B&B will pale in comparison.

Awesome experiences there!very nice place to stay...

It is worth the time and effort to get to The Essex Inn. Each room of the Inn, including bedrooms, is decorated with wonderful antiques, comfortable chairs, and pictures and bric-brac that you can spend hours looking. The best is yet to come...and beautiful garden and a homemade gourmet breakfast served in the Engish tradition. Your hosts are warm and friendly and great conversationalists.
